WEEK 9 - SYNTHESIZING PHYSICS - "AS ABOVE, SO BELOW"?
I think that there is a very real possibility that a central processing center, conveniently called the "God spot" may respond to a variety of inputs from the senses with a universal characteristic output. The God'spot output, in the form of wellbeing, connectedness and even divine love, may very well help us to understand the sense of beauty, how beauty may be linked to survival and how the physical body and the "soul body" may be connected. As above, so below...

Waking up feeling great.
At 9ish, a good sandwich.
Prepared, i turn on the engine of my truck to drive to the school
After learned and earned some acknowledge, i drove back home, feeling satisfy.
Fed my dog, and the dinner almost ready.
Some shows on Tv, and now almost 10 at night, falling sleepy.

WEEK 8 - DESCARTES HAS A LOT TO ANSWER FOR!
The Real Distinction Argument
Descartes formulates this argument in many different ways, which has led many scholars to believe there are several different real distinction arguments. However, it is more accurate to consider these formulations as different versions of one and the same argument. The fundamental premise of each is identical: each has the fundamental premise that the natures of mind and body are completely different from one another.
The first version:
I have a clear and distinct idea of the mind as a thinking, non-extended thing.
I have a clear and distinct idea of body as an extended, non-thinking thing.
Therefore, the mind is really distinct from the body and can exist without it.
The second version: This argument can be reformulated as follows, replacing “mind” for “I” as in the first version:
I understand the mind to be indivisible by its very nature.
I understand body to be divisible by its very nature.
Therefore, the mind is completely different from the body.
The consequences of this problem are very serious for Descartes, because it undermines his claim to have a clear and distinct understanding of the mind without the body. For humans do have sensations and voluntarily move some of their bodily limbs and, if Gassendi and Elizabeth are correct, this requires a surface and contact. week 8 - NEWTON'S THREE LAWS AND ME
THE FIRST LAW IT SAYS THAT OBJECTS AT REST REMAIN AT REST, AND OBJECTS IN MOTION REMAIN IN MOTION IN A STRAIGHT LINE AT CONSTANT VELOCITY. A FORCE MUST BE APPLIED TO CHANGE THE STATE OF A MOTION OF AN OBJECT. THATS IS WHEN I GO AND START MY CAR TO GO TO OAKLAND!!!
SECOND LAW IS THE ACCELERATION OF AN OBJECT IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE FORCE ACTING ON IT, AND INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL TO ITS MASS.

ENERGY, QI AND TECHNOLOGY
THE FUTURE OF ACUPUNCTURE

BY EXPERIMENTING WITH BOTH ULTRASOUND AND MRI, HE HAS SHOWN THAT MANY DIFFERENT FORMS OF MERIDIAN THERAPY PRODUCE A RESPONSE IN THE REGION OF THE BRAIN PRECISELY CORRESPONDING TO THE PART OF THE BODY BEING TREATED.
WORKING WITH BOTH ULTRASONICS AND MRI, DR. JONES HAS BEEN ABLE TO SIMULTANEOUSLY LOCATE, TREAT, AND MONITOR THE EFFECTS OF ACUPUNCTURE POINT STIMULATION. HE HAS DISCOVERED THAT STIMULATING POINTS WITH ULTRASOUND APPEARS TO BE JUST AS EFFECTIVE AS NEEDLE TREATMENT, AND THAT BOTH ELICIT THE SAME RESPONSE IN CORRESPONDING PARTS OF THE NEUROANATOMY. RUBBER PENCIL EXPERIMENT
What to do?
Take the pencil in one of your hands and hold it tightly between your thumb and forefinger, in front of your monitor. Hold the pencil so it is vertical, very close to the monitor.
Now wave the the pencil back and forth in front of the monitor. Does it stay straight? Does it curve? Does speed of movement change the pencils behavior?
Now hold the pencil horizontally and repeat the above step. Does anything happen?
What is happening
The monitor redraws the screen from top to bottom at a rate near 60 Hz. This means that it will act like a strobe light, and allow you to "stop" fast motion. But since it is drawn from top to bottom, it will stop the motion at different points! So it will look like the pencil has curved: the top will be stopped at one time, and the bottom at another time!
When you hold the pencil horizontally, this does not happen. Why not?
(Note: we have been doing this with Mac monitors, where it works really well. We are not sure it works with PCs too, but we guess that it does. If you find any cool or unusual effects, let us know! You can write to us using the form here.)

Fractal systems are all around us. Most things we take for granted are fractal systems, and the agents in every system exist and behave in total ignorance of the concept but that does not impede their contribution to the system. Fractal systems are a model for thinking about the world around us and a model for predicting what will happen.

YES, I WAS AT NEW YORK TWO WEEKS AGO, AND YES, I EXPERIENCED A ORDERED CHAOS ALIVE, THE BUILDINGS AND HOW THEY ARE (OR ARE NOT) ORGANIZED IN THE PLANT OF THE CITY, THE CHAOS ON THE LINES FOR THE BROADWAY SHOWS, THE TOURISTS BUSES, THE CRAZY CABS, AND PLUS NOW, THE UBERS, BUT STILL, WORKING PERFECTLY FINE TOGETHER, WAS JUST AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!
WEEK 6: ENERGY AND QI
It has been translated as "vital energy", "life force", or "Breath" but no single English word will suffice.
This is because of the nature of Qi. It can have different manifestations in different situations.
Qi can even be material and is said to "condense" into matter. This is what occurs according to TCM, when a child is conceived and a human being develops. Qi condenses to form a material being. In pathology, when Qi flow slows down and stagnates, masses, lumps or tumors can appear.
The concept of Qi representing a continuum between immaterial and material is not so far from the concepts of matter and energy in modern physics. Matter is not "solid", but its particles are vibrating at various speeds; the faster they vibrate, the more rarefied the matter becomes. In the same way, the manifestations of Qi cover the continuum of matter-energy.
Characters for Qi mean "vapor" or "steam" and "uncooked rice".
This illustrates that Qi can appear in different states ranging from more immaterial like steam to dense and material like rice.

RESONANCE IN MY WORLD
A VIBRATING SYSTEM RESONATES AT ITS OWN NATURAL FREQUENCY. THAT IS, THE AMPLITUDE OF THE STEADY-STATE RESPONSE IS GREATEST IN PROPORTION TO THE AMOUNT OF DRIVING FORCE WHEN THE DRIVING FORCE MATCHES THE NATURAL FREQUENCY OF VIBRATION.

IF A FRIEND OF YOURS HAD A FIGHT WITH HIS (HER) BOYFRIEND (GIRLFRIEND), THE VIBRATION BEEING AT HIS(HER) SIDE WILL NOT BE GOOD AT ALL, AND IF YOU SENSITIVE ENOUGH, YOU CAN FEEL THE NEGATIVE VIBRATIONS FROM THEM. ANGRY PEOPLE, OR DEPRESSED PEOPLE, EVEN OBJECTS, HOUSE YOU CAN FELL SOME GOOD OR BAD VIBRATIONS, IT IS PURE ENERGY MOVING THROUGH TIME AND SPACE.

WEEK 4 - WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF GRAVITY?
Gravity plays an essential role in terrestrial locomotion. Due to gravity we can hit the ground without losing contact with it. However, because of gravity, work has to be done each step to lift the body even when moving on a level surface. Gravity and the braking action of the ground interact during locomotion with two different energy conserving strategies: the pendular mechanism of walking, up to intermediate speeds, and the bouncing mechanism of running, up to the highest speeds attainable.
WEEK 4 - HOW WOULD YOU COMPARE THE FOUR "FORCES"?
1. The Strong Force
This force is responsible for binding of nuclei. It is the dominant one in reactions and decays of most of the fundamental particles. This force is so strong that it binds and stabilize the protons of similar charges within a nucleus. However, it is very short range. No such force will be felt beyond the order of 1 fm (femtometer or 10-15 m).
2. The Electromagnetic Force
This is the force which exists between all particles which have an electric charge. For example, electrons (negative charge) bind with nucleus of an atom, due to the presence of protons (positive charge). The force is long range, in principle extending over infinite distance. However, the strength can quickly diminishes due to shielding effect. Many everyday experiences such as friction and air resistance are due to this force. This is also the resistant force that we feel, for example, when pressing our palm against a wall. This is originated from the fact that no two atoms can occupy the same space. However, its strength is about 100 times weaker within the range of 1 fm, where the strong force dominates. But because there is no shielding within the nucleus, the force can be cumulative and can compete with the strong force. This competition determines the stability structure of nuclei.
3. The Weak Force This force is responsible for nuclear beta decay and other similar decay processes involving fundamental particles. The range of this force is smaller than 1 fm and is 10-7 weaker than the strong force. Nevertheless, it is important in understanding the behavior of fundamental particles.
4. The Gravitational Force
This is the force that holds us onto the Earth. It could be important in our daily life, but on the scale of atomic world it is of negligible or no importance at all. Gravitational force is cumulative and extended to infinity. It exists whenever there is matter. Your body is experiencing a gravitaional pull with, say, your computer (or anything close to you or as far away as stars and galaxies) but the effect is so small you will never sense it. However, you can sense the gravitaional pull with the Earth (that is, your weight) due to the cumulative effect of billions of billions of the atoms made up your body with those atoms of the Earth. This means that the larger the body (contain more matter), the stronger the force. But on the scale of individual particles, the force is extremely small, only in the order of 10-38 times that of the strong force.

WHAT EVIDENCE CAN YOU FIND FOR SYNCHRONICITY.
What are they, how do they come about, how can you increase synchronicity in your life, and are synchronicities signs of the mind’s growing awareness and ability to manifest thoughts and intents? According to one dictionary synchronicity is “an apparently meaningful coincidence in time of two or more similar or identical events that are causally unrelated.” Carl Jung defined synchronicity as an “acausal connecting principle” meaning that even though two events were not causally connected but were similar or identical was evidence of an underlying governing principle that was larger than each individual event and saw synchronicities as evidence that life is not a series of random events but followed and was an expression of a deeper order. According to these definitions then, synchronicity is evidence of the deeper pattern and meaning inherent in life. An individualistic view would be seeing the synchronicities as meaningful patterns within one’s own life yet, because we are all part of the larger structure of life, this individual pattern is actually significant of the greater pattern of whole that includes everything, humans, animals, plants, the Earth, the Universe. And if you think you’ve never experienced a synchronistic event, think again. Have you ever thought about a person you haven’t seen or talked to in a long time only to have them show up in your life, in a conversation, or through a phone call? Have you ever read or thought about something and then seen it on TV, a movie, or in a conversation that was totally unrelated or nobody but you knew about? These are all examples of ways synchronicity can appear in our lives and, of course, the list of examples could be endless.

IS THE UNIVERSE WEIRD?
I DONT THINK SO, WE ARE NOT PREPARE, OR WE DONT HAVE YET (OR NEVER) THE TOOLS TO UNDERSTAND TH UNIVERSE, WE HAVE ALL THESE CONCEPTS, THEORIES. BUT THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT THE UNIVERSE, THE LAWS, THE PURPOSE , THE BEGINNING AND THE END OF THE ALL THINGS, NOBODY KNOWS, IN FACT IS JUST SPECULATIONS, SOME PART MAYBE SCIENCE GET THE BASE, BUT STILL TOO FAR FROM WHAT IT IS, WHEN THE SCIENCE WILL BE ABLE TO CREATE ANOTHER UNIVERSE, TO TRAVEL BETWEEN TIME AND SPACE IN SECONDS, SOME REAL ADVANCE WILL HAPPEN, BUT FOR NOW, WE CAN STAY WITH OUR IWATCHES AND FACEBOOKS!!
CAUSALITY
In Dubiety , CAUSALITY IS CAUSE AND EFFECT, BUT COULD BE DESTINY, DEPENDING IN YOUR BELIEFS, COULD BE ACCEPTANCE.
If was or it is Maktoub, or "written" before, by God, aliens or just mother nature, casuality will be your fake "freewill" because if everything was maktoub, does it matter each will you chew, its already known by Them. Can be very useful for science, but even science have their limits to explain causality. It just doesn't make sense to me, maybe because we are suppose to not understand that at all, and just accept the causality?
Uncertainty
My humble opinion about this is that, for me the the real and concrete truth, defines Uncertainty.
Nothing in this world, your life, your health, your attitudes, your relationships (any kind)...with friends, your love, even with beliefs, is uncertain in life.
Should be Uncertainty, a greek God?

WHAT ARE THE CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS OF TIME?
i can speak for myself, i came from Brazil, and the time in each day there, feels longer then here, i remember having time for work, for family, friends and some fun for myself, when i moved to US, since then the time just go so fast, is like you need to choose what you will do for each day, because you will not have time for all of them, culturally, Brazil (or certain regions in Brazil) they don't try to "win" the clock they just accepted and forgot the time itself, so you will be able to enjoy your life not based on the time you have but based on the present, now, maybe sometimes you will pay for that, but brazilians still like to live day by day.In USA is different, we " run to win against the clock", we do not have time to do things that is not "important" (but it is!), resulting in missed friends, missed family, we go apart, we leave always, and time for ourselves, that is almost impossible, i think Capitalism change the way we live our lives, damaging us putting the time against us.
Can We Slow Time Down?
Two researches from the University of Minnesota, they used two monkeys rhesus, in a study to determine how the brain feels the not in of time, doing that, we could change our idea of time and change the time for faster or slower
The two monkeys had to perform tasks that was required to them to move their eyes between two points, at regular intervals of one second. Despite having an outside help to keep track of time, after 3 months, the monkeys learned to move their eyes in a standard speed (between 0.0973 seconds and 1.003 seconds).
Using electrodes, they realized that the brain activity of a 100 neurons from the region associated with the eye movement. Every eye movement, the activity was decreased in a way that helped to "predict" the next move.
Geoffrey Ghose, one of the two researchers (the other one is Blaine Schneider) said: "In our model, a change on activity is just what you need to have a different sense of what time is it. This notion will help scientists to understand how the brain processes when a second passing
In the study, they realized that, the notion was decentralized in the brain with various circuits using their own timing mechanisms for each activity.
This explain why, in certain circumstances, we believed that time goes faster when we"re having fun!
